Needless to say that is exactly the advice I would have given. The situation can be further diagnosed by connecting an auxillary fuel supply to the filter inlet, (a coffee can with a piece of tubing soldered in the bottom) and raising it above the injector pump so the fuel can run in by gravity. This will show you if the pump or filter is leaking. If not look back toward the tank.
