inner tie rod install is impossible. Aghh! 700 85

I have a 1985 740 and most of you know I have been posting a lot of questions about getting my car ready for an alignment. well I just got my inner tie rods and I went to remove the old ones. But there is no place to get a wrench on the ball side of it where it attaches to the rack. What do I do? Sorry I have to ask all these rookie questions but this one boggles me.
