Re: hub puller jcwhitney? any good? 120-130 1964

You need a puller for axles or brake drums?

Once you get the brake drums off the axles usually come pretty

easy.

I made a puller for brake drums and some kind person put the

description and a picture of one he made on a website.

(Unfortunately I have forgotten who it was and the URL)

but it amounts to a steel hat with lugbolt holes in the brim

and the crown low enough and heavy enough to push the axle through

the drum when you tighten the lugbolts against the brim.

I made mine out of an old front hub and a piece of 1" plate

but you could make one just as well out of 2 pieces of plate

and a short piece of pipe. The golden virtue is that to make

this one you only have to cut, drill holes and weld, no threads

required.
