I bought out my lease on a 92 turbo for cost in 1997. It was 5000 back then. Also, why would anyone want to trade a classic 86 for 1000 bucks. It has to be worth more than that as just a junker to haul dirty stuff around. I think a fair price would be about 4500-5000 for that car. Especially since it comes with NO warranty from him. It would be different if you were buying from a dealer that had refurbished. Glad to help.
