Re: Fuel Pressure Gauge 700 88

Hi Marlin,

I just read the FAQ you mentioned. I don't have a good bone yard in my area, so I opted to buy some of the parts from Volvo. The message below is one I sent to someone a while ago. For me it was a lot easier than trying to create the whole thing from many small parts. This version below duplicates the Volvo gauge pretty closely, and uses only one banjo fitting. If you need more info, let me know.

For my '87 240 w/ LH2.2 injection I built one using some Volvo parts and some auto parts store parts. First, buy a fuel pressure gauge setup from your local auto parts store. Be sure that the gauge goes to at least 100psi. Next, go to your local Volvo dealer and buy these parts:

9995267-7 Nipple $27.45

9995116-2 Hose $ 9.30

The nipple is the fitting that connects between the rubber fuel line and the fuel rail. The hose includes the banjo fitting that attaches inline with the nipple. The other end of the hose is an unusual fitting that I imagine could connect only to a Volvo fuel pressure gauge. I cut that fitting off, and installed a 1/8" male pipe thread with barbed fitting pressed onto the hose. The 1/8" male pipe screws into almost any fuel pressure gauge found at any auto store.

Being a cheapskate, I tried for a month looking at different hardware stores, auto parts stores, Grainger, etc. to find the unusual metric fittings needed to for the job. I had no luck. If you don't live in the U.S., you may get luckier.
