If your pump sat with old gas in it for a long time it could
be gummed up. Gums are natural decomposition products of
gasoline. If you take the pump end apart, check to see if
you can turn the shaft. If stiff, a little bit of your favorite
penetrating snake oil and a lot of working back and forth may
free it up, then you can reassemble with cleaned parts and
new O-rings and it will probably be OK. Even with quite a bit
of wear to the little rollers it will still put up adequate
fuel pressure. Will naturally be more noisy.
