I have a hollow clunkig noise eminating from, I think (I really can not tell anymore after being blinded by frustration), the right front end of my 745t. Thanks to advice from the brickboard I have checked and rechecked all the obvious stuff bushings, strut mounts, ball joints etc.... I have also checked the engine and passenger compartments for loose items. My mechanic even went so far as to replace what was thought to be a bad strut on the right side. With the new strut the car still makes the same noise. The noise sounds like a softball has been dropped on a wooden floor when the car goes over big bumps. If the bump is large enough the sound continues for a short time as if the wheel were hopping up and down. My mechanic and I are stumped. Is there any weird condition similar to this that someone has come across with their brick. Is there some less noticable part of the car I can check? The car has 115,000 miles on it and except for the clunk the car drives and handles well. I had the right side ball joint replaced within the 1000 miles as well. Please help. Any insight, ideas, weird thoughts, observations would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
