Re: Leaking Headlight 200 1991

My friends 90 sedan had this problem. I took care of it by removing the

headlight unit. Then remove the chrome trim from the unit. I carefully

pried and cut the seal around the unit so I could remove the plastic

lens. Once off I cleaned the lens then used an RTV sealer to make my own

gasket. This sealed the lens completely and they haven't had any more water

in three years since I did that for them.

Personally the Cibie lights that Volvo uses are not very well made and the plastic isn't the highest quality. I have early 240 turn signals on my car and they are made by Hella. They seal better and look nicer to me than

the Cibie lights which use three screws to hold the lens on, and they use cheaper light bulbs.
