I have an '86 240GLE with the nearly the same spec as yours, B230K, I think it's an M47 gearbox (5 speed), I have a Webber carb fitted to mine though.

I can't tell you the official top speed of this spec 240, but best I got out of mine on the flat was 112 mph (186 kph), I might have had the wind behind me? I do know it took ages to get there!

I'm using 185/70 R14 Pirelli P3000 energy tyres @ 35 psi, not the best grip in the world, but it certainly rolls a lot easier than with the horrible cheap tyres that were on it when I got the car, so maybe there's better value for horse power in that.

If you have any info on the B230K, I'd really like to know, especially the figures they should be getting on the machine when I have the Webber carb tuned, my regular Volvo mechanic tryed to set it up and just made things worse, less performance using more fuel, the day before I had to drive 1500 miles!
