Alan,

I running 10w30 Mobile 1 synthetic year round in all of my Bricks. Very good results especially in Northern Utah and Montana winter weather. I also make frequent trips into Arizona and Nevada in summer months using the same weight Mobile 1. Never had a problem or a concern. My 95 944T came with a Volvo recomendation to use 10w30 weight oil year round unless in very extreme situations. Towing in high heat, mountain roads or 40 below zero weather for prolonged periods may require lighter or heavier weights ... but I would say for your purposes 10w30 is the right stuff. Mobile 1 and a good Mann or Bosch Premium filter changed frequently should keep you on the road for a good many trouble free miles ... through all kinds of weather.
