Not that I am any real expert in the matter, but I would look at the following for an HP boost. Of course, all the basics should be in good shape (i.e. belts & hoses, filters, cap, rotor, wires, plugs, compression, etc.):

1.) New high-flow exhaust

2.) Adjustable camshaft gear (IPD and MVP have them)

3.) Volvo Turbo+ kit, or Saab APC modification
