You have to dig them out with something. Or flush out the leaf shrapnel with a hose. It all collects behind the front wheels, so be prepared to have a stick to clear out the drain hoses for the cowl vents.

I used to have to do a yearly dig to get some of the leaves out of there. A couple of times I got little pieces through the inside vents of my old, long-gone 245.
