Is it possible you never had chrome nuts or someone else intentionally or mistakenly switched them in the past? Did you see the nuts before you took it in? I only mention it becuase the hubcap covers them and maybe you just never had the opportunity to see them until now. Maybe the last place to work on it, or previous owner did it. Just a thought.
