I take your point that if in doubt, it's always better to err on the side of caution.
In this case, if the feed line to the main pump is only under a few pounds pressure and the original equipment was 30R7, then replacing it with the same would not be economising.
My local Napa dealer carries 1/2 inch ID 30R7, rated at 35 psi, but not 30R9, and neither can they source it.
It's made, as you pointed out, but where to buy it is another question. The Continental you referenced is available only in a 50 ft reel, according to the chart.
