As with most buy/sell businesses - they make their money on the “buy” price. I did the same thing with carvana a couple of years ago. Put my 1 year-old, 10k mile, $18-$20k Japanese sedan into their system. Within a few minutes I had an $8k offer. Turn it right around for $15k or so.
