Hi! I recently had the ABS light come on in a 1993 Volvo 240 wagon. I read comments on the internet suggesting the surge protector relay might be the culprit. I went thru the multimeter testing in the Bentley manual and sure enough, the testing indicated a bad relay. I ordered a used one on ebay and it tested good, and sure enough the ABS light is now off. I also read that these are no longer available, so I guess those of us who have antilock brakes and want them to work will be purchasing used parts. The Volvo part number is 1363569. On the relay is "S" logo (I assume Stribel) with the number 897169 below it. On one side of the relay is the electronic schematic diagram. This relay has a 10 amp fuse. If anyone wants to look inside this bad one, I'm happy to send it to see if it can be repaired. I'm happy to pay for parts, labor assuming this is not astronomically expensive. Another possible option is this relay for Porsche. https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-porsche-parts/relay/92861512402/
The prongs are different but I could probably find the appropriate 4 prong connector and splice it in. All comments are welcome. Thanks.
