cluster straight answer 900 1993

Hi Brickboarders,
just after a straight simple answer to an old old question.

Diagnosing a speedo fault on my 1993 Wentworth 2.0 turbo manual estate.

What happens does/doesnt work if I fit a spare instrument cluster from my old 1992 SE 2.0 turbo auto estate.
The clusters are different and I seem to remember last time I considered it that there was an extra connector on the 1993 cluster. I also remember the fuel gauge being in some way different.

What I need to know is can I slot the 1992 one in and drive about a bit so's I can diagnose either a dud speedo or a dud diff sensor without ripping the car to bits and what features will be absent.

I'm running a £20 gps hud on it at the moment but still want to keep my Volvo working as Odin intended.
