Ever since my problematic 940T hit around 100k miles, the tail lights have been giving me fits. I have tried various things, bending the ground and hot tabs out in an attempt to make better connection with the bulb socket base. Inevitably, almost every time I drove it, I would get the bulb failure light, or even worse, NO brake lights, and no bulb failure light!
Anyway, I finally had enough and got the idea to use foil strips (width the length of bulb base) and wrap the bulb metal base with two wraps of foil,of course being careful not to get any near the hot + tip. VOILA! I did this three weeks ago, and not one tail
light failure! This is such a relief to finally not have to raise the trunk and mess with the bulbs all the time. And, of course the safety factor. I had given up on them. I ALWAYS use my turn signals, and they were wonky too. No More!
