Overheating, or is it?! 1988

Has the temperature compensation board been changed or actually removed and numbered out in the instrument cluster?
They go haywire all on their on.

Here is a common sense way of checking and comparing things.
If you don't hear bubbling and cracklings going on in the engine, right after you shut it down, the coolant temperature may be just fine and the compensation board has jumped up digitally to the next setting.
