No radio reception after heater core replacement

rstarkie,

After plying Art's continuity of the auto radio FM cable coax and verifying you get a good connection of the center electrode from the jack socket the aerial coax lead plugs into the wire harness radio to the plug (center electrode axial and ground coax) ....

May want to check that the cable plug is fully seated in the aerial jack. It can be a tight fit at the back of the radio jack. I'd reinstalled one or two to find I'd not seated this cable, or had pulled apart another connector on the way under the dash.

Sometimes the solder connections for the aerial jack inside the radio can fracture from years of vibration.

Also, if you have a power aerial at the aft end of your 745, the contacts at the base can come dirty or loose connection.

Yet with your dash most recently reassembled, perhaps begin at the dash in the most recently disturbed place.

Congrats on the heater core replace. Hope you get your in-Volvo sound system working again as you like it!

Hope that helps.

Sat-Your-Day MacDuffed.
