Thank you. 29 months seems okay for the Starla rubber hangers.

Whatever I had as hangers did not last very long and went clunkety-clunk after my last cat-back exhaust replace.

Had to replace the three forward-facing pressed in studs, on that triangular plate steel at the front of the catalytic converter. Had them pressed out, and used the heaviest steel hardware (bolts, washer, and nuts) I could on the thing. The OEM original to the car catalytic converter scrubs the exhaust gas for CO, CO2, and oxides of nitrogen very effectively. The shell is rust free. Though the cat got well-basted all over with synthetic type F fluid from the M47 transmission fluid leak. Lucky it did not cause a fire. Was hundreds of miles from home on the highway.

I had some extra Volvo hangers I'd pulled off a few salvage yard Volvos, yet these were 25+ years old, I'll guess. So, these are the rubber hangers that are on there that failed.

I doubt the rubber hangers that came with the cat-back exhaust were Starla as they failed in like six and maybe 18-months. A ping and then clunkety-clunk.

A very good point you make though ... climbing under and inspecting the hangers and the exhaust piping before it goes clunkety and then the roar of un-muffled exhaust erupting unexpectedly! I use the proper Volvo exhaust clamps. The exhaust unions seem not to corrode as fast when you use the Volvo brand exhaust clamps. (Versus the guillotine-like exhaust clamps.)
