Hiya Uncles oldduke and Art Benstein,

Off topic, yet Tobacco Road and Stinking Creek. Oldduke, you speak it literary or literal metaphor:

Tobacco Road ....

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tobacco_Road

Stinking Creek ...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stinking_Creek,_Tennessee

Oldduke, are you some novel author? You remind me of some authors from England and the States, yet I can't recall any of their names right now.

I'd say, maybe, yet think I'm wrong of the Charles Bukowski, or even Hunter S. Thomson (and his Gonzo journalism), yet that does not seem an apt fit.

Someplace, in some San Francisco City publication, when parking on the steep hills of that city, you turn your steering wheel in such fashion so the front wheel next to the curb prevents or limits movement in the event of parking brake and / or transmission parking lock (? - dunno hhwhut you guys call it, the transmission in P - Park) failure.

If the front of the Volvo 240 points downhill, you turn the steering wheel to the curb.

If the front of the Volvo 240 points uphill, you turn the steering wheel away from the curb.

In doing so, the Volvo 240 rear wheel will bump the somewhat tall curbs there, so you won't have a runaway Volvo 240!

Yeah, you sometimes have to pull hard to release the column steering lock. Sometimes I'd get befuddled how much you'd have to twist the steering wheel to free it, and the ignition key from the lock. So much so I'd try one way, and then the other.

Don't need a runaway Volvo 240. Just want to keep the Volvo 240s safe and sound. (And the greater rear-wheel drive Volvo collective as such, also, if we can.)

Hope that helps.

Thank you.

Happy Eggnog Holidays. And some of the Ripple or Sneaky Pete with Oldduke!

Duffed.
