Unfortunately (for me) the tuning forks are like new and in place.
The 10mm head mounting nuts that hold the regulator in the door are all tight. The holes are not slotted, so no adjustment is possible there, either.
Original glass fully in the rubber "U channel" which is, in turn, fully inserted into the metal brackets that the F and R arms are attached.
Everything feels tight like new, though there is barely enough play at the pivot point (where the arms come together) that I can lift the front of the window the 1/2" it needs to fit properly (but no more). If there were NO play, the window would be OK, but given manufacturing tolerances, I doubt they'd make things with zero-tolerance.
The window was like this when the car had only 80k miles on it (it has 113k now), and I know most 700s have FAR more miles than this and the regulators aren't worn out.
I thought it strange that the bushing at the pivot point of the regulator arms has a 1/4" square hole just perfect to fit a 1/4" ratchet if that wasn't for a reason of some sort, but if it rotates, I don't know how.
I am loathe to remove the regulator just to see if there something I'm missing.
