One other thing. Seeing as the finish in that area is already pretty fubared, maybe you want to try rehabilitating the finish first before you determine whether a re-spray is required. Get some compound and rub it in. With any luck you might be able to minimize that hazing to the point where you can live with it. If it were me, I might try that first - nothing to lose really.
