Which model to replace my 240 sedan? for a tall guy

Thanks guys!

I'll be on the lookout for a good condition 740/940 with 5-speed. Or an 850 with manual transmission- good luck with that, huh!

I'm very glad to hear different opinions on the FWD vs RWD. I haven't owned enough cars to recognize the difference in handling or maintenance.

DAN- I know you are hugely knowledgeable, but I forget that you can also be a comic! Seat controls are of course very important, and some cars simply don't have the travel to accomodate me, especially if the steering column doesn't adjust as well.

I really like a sunroof, but they typically cost an inch and a half headroom. Also, even in my 240 I need to scoot down in my seat to see a traffic signal sometimes due to the top of the windshield being just about exactly at my eye level, despite the fact that my head doesn't touch the roof. And yes Dan, this is with the seat adjusted as much as possible!

Is there a big difference between the M47 and the M90 5-speed transmissions in terms of reliability, feel, or maintenance when looking for a 740/940?

Keith
