Cold Start Injector 700 1991

I live in California and would like to disable the cold start injector on my '91 Regina 740. I know there are instructions for running a wire from the starter to the injector but why can't I just disconnect the electrical connector to the injector. The coldest it ever gets here is about 45F. If I do disconnect it and that's a bad idea/mistake how would I know?
