to lower or not to lower: IPD springs vs FCP, cheese factor vs. suspension improvements

There is a sequence to be followed when modifying cars for handling. You've done some good things like shocks and bushings. The sway bars are great. There is no sense lowering the car if you are going to stick with 14 wheels and rubber. It is far more important to move to 15 or even 16 inch rubber and more width while you're at it, than lowering. Lowering is useless without stiff sidewalls to take advantage of it.
So get better wheels and rubber first. When you're done you may forget about lowering the car at all.
