David;

I don't mean to jump on you so don't take this wrong, but you should understand this and use correct terminology... Stater does NOT have Voltage...Battery has voltage, and good clean connections supply the Current to Starter and prevent a Voltage Drop...that is why clean and tight connections are vital...they prevent Voltage drops between Battery and Starter while drawing the substantial high currents of starting.
