I recently went through this process and at the end of the day, building an adapter and using a recycled S70 booster and MC was the cost effective choice, by hundreds of dollars. Plenty of availability, rebuildable, and good feel and range of effect. Even looks cleaner under the hood.
When you find the original rebuild bits, or decide to go to one of the established rebuilders, you can go that way.
