1973 140 and 164 tacho - any differences? 140-160

Back to the aforementioned later in-dash units, I remember back years ago when I had a '76 265 5spd with the R-Sport gauge package...

The tach, wired for six cylinders, also had a (less prominent) connector for 4 cylinder operation, to be used, with minor modification, in the 4 cylinder gauge package with different lettering of the face..

Are you sure that this situation does not exist for the tachs in question (both VDO, no?). I would be surprised if it did not have a (perhaps unlabeled) "tap" for 4 cyl operation.

Smoke has cleared,

Michael
