I drove it home from the scene of the attack and the wheel was cocked about 1/8 turn to the right. Have not tried it at any speed.
A body shop has not seen it, and I have not had an opportunity to crawl underneath. Possibly this weekend. My quick observations are that both doors are toast, along with the B pillar and sill. The amount of deflection is such that the seat is moved and the phone on my left hip was broken. Not sure what the floor looks like, but I am betting it is bent.
I'm damn grateful to have walked away from this, and would hate to get hit there at any significant speed. Volvo's reputation for stout vehicles has proved true in this case.
As to organ donation; I am an advocate. First though, I have to go through the ritual screwing by the insurance company. I suspect that will not be amusing, and possibly may cause me to speak in tongues. The wreck gave me practice, so I am prepared.
The good Frau was the recipient of a couple organs from people on this board, and I will make every attempt to return the favor. This is with the proviso that she who must be obeyed has decreed that a cadaver is not welcome in the drive way long term, and I am out of shop space.
