As I posted back in June, my '69 164 would backfire once, upon normal acceleration from a stop. It's really a "pop". We checked everything out, including timing, valves, pistons, vaccuum, electronic ignition, etc. All checked out fine. The Strombergs' springs, diaphrams, floats were all good. Then we noticed the needles were not stock for a 164, but were for a 140 (B1AN). The 1969 164 should have B1AM needles. A significant difference where my problem occurs. I'm looking for a set to see if that's the solution to my mysterious "pop". Anybody have a set?
