Many years ago while refurbishing my 122S 4dr. I tried using the IPD door handle clip removal tool #VJT2297, but had no luck with it.
I finally purchased the tool from Skandix;
http://www.skandix.de/en/spare-parts/accessories/tools/tools-body/gripper-window-crank/1014292/
which worked quite well. Hope this helps.
