The inner door panel. Where the door handle and the window switches normally live. Usually made of the same material as the rest of your interior: ie. cloth, vinyl, leather. You should be able to remove it with basic tools. Just be careful!

John Sargent might be onto something. Check there first before removing the door panel.

As I mentioned before, if the door panel plastic sleeve is damaged there should be some clues. Check the bottom for dampness and water damage.
