Hi, All. The old harmonic balancer on the "never make a job easy on me" 245 Wagon was wobbling badly at idle. I found what looked like a low mile replacement at teh PnP with no rubber cracking. The PO had replaced the t belt recently and when I pulled off the old balancer I could see where the nib from the gear had made an impression about 40" off of the balancers keyway. Not wanting to repeat this mistake, I used some paint to mark the keyway on the pulley part and the lower timing cover. The nib was much smaller than on my 92 which I was able to line up perfectly when I did the t belt. this was a pretty small nib and also had what looked like a thrust washer further reducing the protrusion of the nib. Any tricks to correctly aligning? as it looks like I missed the alignment because she's wobbling exactly as she was with the old harmonic balancer. Ticks me off when I screw something like this up!
Thanks, Greg
