i noticed NOONE mentioned bad wiring harness. if its an '87 it could very well have degraded insulation. i know im in the final steps of fixing mine. most of it is a-ok but in one area the wires were all bare so im heatshrinking and reinstalling any bad exposed wires. im hoping thatll do the trick:)
