Relates to '90 764 GLT, electrically operated sunroof. My sunroof hasn't operated in some time. My troubleshooting has so far eliminated the motor, fuses and other mechanical issues. My focus is on the dash switch. I converted over to manual and the sunroof operates just fine.
I've removed the switch in question and run some VOM tests. I'm getting some resistance between the Red-Gray and Red male terminals when I toggle down. I rubbed the alligator clip jaws on the male Gray-Red terminal and began reading slightly less resistance. More rubbing gave even slightly better results.
So, I'm questioning if this switch's problem is just corroded contacts. And, I can't rule out the female contacts at the harness connector contributing to the overall problem.
Any suggestions on how to effectively clean these male and female contacts.
FWIW, a replacement switch can come from a 940 or a 760. It seems that 960's and 740's do not have a switch compatible with 760 of this model year.
For the fun of Volvo's
