There are two of them on my 940, both under the intake manifold. One drives the temp
Gauge. The other controls the fan and cold start. When it gave out on my car, the fan ran as soon as i started it up each morning, and would stay running up to 10 minutes after shutdown. And it ran rough at cold start for about 5-10 seconds each morning, with no fast idle.
