Brake Caliper Clogged?

remove the bleeder screw and tap tap tap on the caliper with a small brass hammer at the same time have an assistant pump the brakes,any thing beyond that might require braking down the caliper in which case I would first call fcp. Any chance the flexible rubber line is at fault? Were the old calipers functioning?
