I think you're on to something...

Fix that drivers motor mount, you'll solve a few things.

When you step on the gas, or let the clutch out from a stop, have you noticed the gearshift flopping over towards the passenger seat?

Yea... that'd be the engine lifting off it's mount, and you let off the gas, it flops back down. That's your driveshaft 'slack' I bet.
