Running Rich.

Ideas ..
Clean the throttle body.
Make sure the flame trap is clean.
Not sure if the idle air control has anything to do with this, but make sure it is clean.
Make sure there are no holes in the intake hose(s)
You do have a fresh air filter in there ..right?

Smelling gas does point to the Fuel Pressure Regulator. If I recall, that is usually a big contributor to running rich.

Once you get past all this ...I think the only thing left is the brain ..which I doubt is the culprit.

Usually the simpler things rectify something like this ..something I need to learn better. :)
