Have you thought about polishing the glass? If the rubber surround is in good shape and not leaking water into the cabin, I was told regular toothpast is the equivelent to jeweler's rouge. When I get brave, in a few weeks, I will try it on my windshield - I have a 6 in polishing wheel to attach to my drill. I need to get rid of the right side wiper marks.

I just got a new rubber surround, but that looks like a heck of a job to repl.
