Hot, hot, hot!! 200 1993

I appreciate your reply about coolant.

I agree that the straight stuff is liquid with something, if not water. I do not know if the product could not be shipped in containers half that size or in powder form? Evidently, dilution was the cheaper solution, for somebody.

Water differs in quality greatly past the H2O molecular chemistry with the addition of many types of ions. I believe I stated rocks for simplicity.

I wanted to convey the idea that the type water can affects things. A many of my years went bye before I observed people using distilled water into batteries or even asking about it.

It takes water to make an acid, which I will bet acid makers use the purist water. I would think that battery acid comes diluted down some more, for consumer safety. In a sense, battery manufactures use the best water because of their warranties.

Antifreeze is an open-ended use product. I do not know of anyone returning antifreeze for a warranty refund. I use Valvoline GO5 year and have yet too. If I had failures, I would have to question the antifreeze because the water is supposed to be water. Ask the antifreeze manufacture about a guarantee and I will bet again, they will whine, NOT!

If so, then you are right, they would use the best and might advertise it. With marketing the way it is, I think I would avoid the touting of them using mountain spring water in its 50/50 formula!

I have not seen any effort on the part of the antifreeze manufacturers to bring this to anyone’s attention. It is not in the directions of use. It was not on earlier bottles or even packaging, which I have found to read today. There may be one but I am not obsessed with this, I hope. (:^)

Many years ago, I used Prestone (pressed stones). My Dad used it justification. One-day years later, I noticed some white stuff in my first radiator. I used distilled water too! Then, I looked up the word, silicate. It is almost sand! That is what I read into it this stuff, back when.
Guess what they used to scrap or scrub to lock up the engines, instead of oil, during the cash for clunker program, silicate. That gave me a new reverence, as to that antifreeze composition does not mix with oil!

Money is not my only factor that I consider. I think there are numerous values, if known, to weigh out. Those affect the bottom lines for most people of what they consume.

Bottom line, I was attempting to share my values or my two pennies worth.
Thanks for yours,
Phil
