Follow Up 200 1980

I cleaned the gas tank and replaced the fuel filter. I added about 1 gallon of gas. There is a spark and I hear the main fuel pump hum. Fuel flows strongly from the new fuel filter and is clean. However, the Volvo will not start. This happens a lot with this car. Sometimes, there is only one click and nothing happens. Most of the time, the car tries to start but won't start. Please advise.
