Complying with US laws introduced in 1968, they are more "collision friendly" in that they are rounder and made of rubber. Also, they have their lettering on the knob rather than on bezel. Only on export cars to the US, only model year 1968.

They may be similar to the 140-series, but their part numbers differ. Except for the four-way emergency flasher unit, which is the exact same.
