My daughter took one of our 240's (a 90 4 cyl. non turbo S.W. ) to college with her, (a couple hours drive from here). About month ago, we met to enjoy a Shakespear festival, at a location which was an hours drive for each of us. |After a delightful day, we said good bye, got into our cars, and hers wouldn't start. It was dark, it was late, I had no tools with me (my bad). I couldn't hear the buzz of her fuel pump, so I pulled down the under dash cover on the passenger side, grabbed the fuel pump relay with one hand and rapped it with the other. The car started up, and we both headed home. The next day the car wouldn't start for her, while on her cell phone, I walked her through the procedure I used the prior evening, and she made it to work. I next day aired a couple of relays to her, and each will work for a while before the symptoms repeat. Usually just unpluging and repluging the relay does the trick. I examined one of the suspect relays, and didn't find any signs of burnt contacts or cracked solders. Any thoughts?
