Could you put a couple of hose clamps on it and maybe pinch the split shut -- or at least slow the leak. That may be where a lot of your fuel pressure is going.
EDIT: In fact, you might want to hold off on the tank pump reseat until you can at least moderate the pressure lost at that fuel feed line. I can see where that might be most if not all of the problem.
The pic below shows a used banjo (with a short line section) spliced to my feed line after the original banjo sprung a rust leak. The "coupling" is a short length of 5/16" pipe with each hose end double-clamped. It held fine while I waited for the real deal.
