Parallel flow condensers and evaporators

I am planning my 1987 740's a/c system overhaul/conversion and I've been told that as a minimum I should replace the stock condenser with a parallel flow condenser. I looked at the universal fit PF condensers offered by ackits but they are not the same dimensions as the stock unit. I understand from reading posts to this forum that Volvo offered parallel flow condensers and evaporators in newer (post '90 models) versions of the 740/940 series. Can someone verify for me that the newer condensers and evaporators are of the parallel flow design and which models and years will bolt on to my 1987 740.
