Maximum cargo weight 200 1987

Greetings,
I have an '87 240DL wagon, which I love (goes without saying). I haul some heavy stuff sometimes (chopped Hammond B3 w/ Leslie, concrete for work on my house, etc), and I want to be sure I'm not overloading the car. Capacity weight is rated at 1220 lbs, and permissible axle weight is rated at 1885 lbs (front) and 2600 lbs (rear). My tires are rated at 1400 lbs max load, which should accommodate the max rear axle load.

So, if I weigh 150, does that mean I could safely distribute 1070 pounds around the whole cargo space, with the seat down? Would that exceed the rear axle permissible weight? (I don't know how much of the 3300 lbs of curb-weight car is riding on the rear axle to start with). Is one way better to distribute the load weight than another, like evenly distribute throughout the cargo space, as opposed to directly over the axle, or vice versa?

Thanks for any thoughts, tips, or lessons from experience you can share.

Steve
