I have a 1982 240 gt. I have installed a 83 factory intercooler. It hits the end of the yellow on the (colored) factory boost gauge and it will ping. I have to taylor shifts (automatic) to stay below high boost. I always run premium and have been adding octane booster...this seems to help. Also, it is a complete dog taking off, the turbo has big time lag but seems to scoot until it hits the detonation zone. Is there an ignition module or changes that can be made? What about turbo mods to help with spool up. Is this problem less noticable with an 5 speed trans? I would greatly appreciate any info.
